Tour Itinerary includes the following highlights in this sequence:

Wooroonooran National Park is located half an hour drive south of Cairns city. It offers stunning and pristine rainforest with fantastic World Heritage attractions. This area of unsurpassed beauty contains the 2 highest mountains in Queensland, numerous unspoiled rivers, waterfalls, swimming holes and some of the World's lushest and most ancient rainforests. You can revitalise yourself in tranquil rainforest settings. In addition to the educational first-hand rainforest experience, this tour also includes fun activities including crocodile spotting and bird watching. Brilliant photographic opportunities abound at each location. Your Wooroonoonan National Park Day Tour will provide you with lifetime memories of Far North Queensland’s Tropical Rainforests!

Your day starts with an air conditioned coach pick-up from Cairns and Cairns Northern Beaches accommodation.

From here we make our way up the Kuranda Range to Rainforestation Wildlife Park. Here you will learn all about Australian animals. See massive crocodiles basking in the sun, hand feed wallabies (and take 'close up' photos of these amazing creatures), watch the koalas sleeping in the gum trees (sometimes even with their babies) and wander through the ‘snake house’ and listen to the guide tell you incredible snake facts! Enjoy the natural rainforest setting of Rainforestation nestled in a backdrop of World Heritage Listed Rainforest.

Your next stop of the day is Lake Eacham on the Tablelands. This famous volcanic Crater Lake was formed 12’ 000 years ago and is over 65 metres deep! Learn the Aboriginal legend of how the lake was formed by the Ngadjon–jii Aboriginal people who once inhabited the land. Lake Eacham is home to abundant birdlife, frogs, fish and many marsupials. Here you will see turtles, water dragons, and the very funny scrub fowls. A swim in this lake is an unforgettable experience that should not be missed!

Next, it’s time to stop at Tarzali Lakes for platypus viewing and a delicious lunch! This privately owned paradise boasts giant lily filled billabongs which are home to many active platypus. Get close up views of these iconic Aussie mammals as they go about their business frolicking in the water. Sitting on the bankside shaded verandahs of Tarzalli Lakes Restaurant, enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of an Australian style buffet with a great variety of salads, ham, chicken, pasta, quiche, bread, fruit salad and cake!

After lunch it’s time to experience one of Australia/s grandest manmade structures in a natural environment, the Mamu Aerial Rainforest Canopy Boardwalk! With its combination of a canopy walk high in the tree tops, an observation tower and viewing decks; you will take in the exhilarating vistas of the Johnstone River Gorge and amazing surrounding World Heritage landscapes. Brilliant photo opportunities abound!

No visit to Wooroonoonan National Park is complete without a visit to the iconic Josephine Falls. Josephine Falls is a secluded freshwater swimming hole, located at the foot of Queensland’s tallest mountain, Mt.
Bartle Frere (1622m). Here, a series of waterfalls flow into large pools surrounded by large granite boulders. Rainforest trees hang over the water, keeping the waters cool and refreshing. Take a short walk to a series of dramatic cascading waterfalls with your Guide. You can even take the plunge in the exciting natural rockslide (life vests are provided for children) of the Falls!

Arrive back into Cairns with drop off at accommodation at approximately 6.00pm
