This budget package is ideal for people who have a week to see the highlights of Far North Queensland and have seven nights to do it in. It includes all the highlights of Cairns and its region, with over night stays in various places to add variety and changes of scenery to your holiday. Your accommodation is budget accommodation however you won’t be spending much time in your accommodation, you’ll be too busy exploring!

Tips: We suggest you take the package in the order as seen below. You have the option to have extra nights, less nights, extra tours, or less tours with this very flexible package which can start any day of the week, and there is no minimum number of people required. We can upgrade the accommodation if you wish, at additional cost.

Tour Package Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive to Cairns Airport to hotel shuttle bus transfer and overnight accommodation at Global Central (a city centre backpacker ) in either a private room for 1 or 2 or 4,6,8 share dorm bed room with own bathroom. (your choice)

Day 2: Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Tour- including Cairns pick up and all transport. This tour takes you on one of Australia’s most scenic, famous and historical train journeys from Cairns to Kuranda - the village in the rainforest. You’ll also experience the world’s longest gondola journey (7.5km) from Kuranda down to Cairns. En-route in both directions you will see the famous Barron Falls and take in some amazing panoramic views from the rainforest to the sea. Overnight accommodation at Global Central Backpackers in either a private room for 1 or 2, or a 4,6 or 8 share dorm bed room with own bathroom. (your choice)

Day 3: Overnight Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Tour including an informative guide, morning tea, visiting Port Douglas, Daintree Wildlife Sanctuary, Daintree rainforest board walks, and Cape Tribulation Beach and also taking in a one hour wildlife cruise on the Daintree River. Over night at Ferntree Rainforest lodge in Cape Tribulation Daintree Rainforest in either a private room for 1 or 2, or a 4 share dorm bed room with own bathroom. (your choice).

Day 4: Half Day Great Barrier Reef Day Tour to the pristine reefs just 20 minutes by fast boat transfer from Cape Tribulation including return hotel transfers from your accommodation. Breakfast at your hotel is included prior to the reef cruise. Your next pick up will be at around 2pm for your transfer to Port Douglas for an overnight stay at Global Backpackers - in the centre of Port Douglas, in either a private room for 1 or 2, or a 4,6,8 share dorm bed room with own bathroom. (your choice)

Day 5: Free Day to explore Port Douglas, 4 Mile Beach before your transfer back to Cairns. Overnight accommodation at Global Central in either a private room for 1 or 2, or a 6 share dorm bed room. (your choice).

Day 6: Rainforest Waterfalls Cairns Highlands 2 day 1 night Tour. The highlights of today are the Curtain and Cathedral Fig Trees; Volcanic crater lake: Lake Barrine; 3 rainforest waterfalls: Millaa Millaa, Zillie, and Ellinjaa falls. Overnight accommodation is at the award winning “On the Wallaby Backpackers Lodge“, with platypus spotting before a seriously good BBQ dinner. Lunch and BBQ dinner included. Overnight accommodation at on the wallaby lodge is dorm style rooms however requests for private rooms can be requested at the time of check in. (can not be pre-booked)

Day 7: Mountain Bikes, Wildlife Canoeing. The highlights of today are the optional mountain bike ride and swim at nearby Lake Eacham, a volcanic crater lake; Wildlife Spotting in two person canoes in a secluded part of Lake Tinaroo; Spot rare wildlife such as tree kangaroos, birds and water dragons. The day ends at around 7pm when you’ll have come away with amazing memories of stories and scenery from what we suggest be your last day in Cairns. Overnight accommodation at Global Central in either a private room for 1 or 2, or a 4 share dorm bed room with own bathroom. (your choice).

Day 3 Overnight Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Tour : 7.30am from Cairns
Day 4 Reef Tour: 7.30am for Reef Tour, 2.00pm for your bus to Port Douglas
Day 5 Bus to Cairns: 5.00pm from Port Douglas
Day 6 Cairns Highlands 2 day 1 night Tour: 8.00am from Cairns
Day 7 Cairns Highlands Tour: 8.00am from Cairns Highlands

Return time:
Day 2 Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Tour: Appoximately 4.45pm
Day 3 Overnight Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Tour : You will arrive at 1.00pm to Cape Tribulation
Reef Tour: You will arrive at 1pm back from the Reef, you will arrive at around 5pm to Port Douglas
Day 5 Bus from Port Douglas: 6.00pm to Cairns
Day 6 Cairns Highlands Tour: You will check in at Cairns Highlands around 4pm
Day 7 Cairns Highlands 2 day 1 night Tour: 7.00pm back to Cairns.
Day 8: Transfer back to the airport at a time to suit you

Booking Policy

Please advise the following:
Your preferred check in and check out dates for the accommodation. Your arrival and departure times and flight numbers.

The dates you wish to do each tour. If no preference, we will book it in the order it appears above. That is the order that we recommend.

Your phone number, especially if you hold an Australian mobile phone.

We can also book other accommodation so if you would prefer to stay somewhere nicer or perhaps at the Cairns beaches, please tell us where you wish to stay and we will offer you a package deal based on another hotel or resort.

Amendments to the dates of travel can be made with at least 48 hours notice.

Cancellation Policy:
·30 – 3 days prior to travel, a 25% cancellation fee applies
·Less than 3 days prior to travel, a 100% cancellation fee applies
A $50 per person administration fee applies to every cancellation greater than 30 days prior to the date of travel.
