If you are short on time but don't want to rush your Cape York experience then this tour may be the one for you! This tour covers the mian highlights of Cape York, based on the owner/ operators many years of experience and with only four people required to make the tour happen it is likely to get the minimum numbers required to run.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1. Fly Cairns to Cooktown departing Cairns at 0800 hrs. Join a tour of Cooktown lasting approximately 4 hours. See the James Cook Museum, Grassy Hill where Cook sent several weeks drawing his detailed maps of the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy lunch over looking the Endeavour River, visit the Grave Site of Mary Watson , the hero of the Lizard Island Tragedy, visit the Cooktown Botanical Gardens. Depart Cooktown at 1400 hrs for Horn Island. Once on Horn Island we take a ferry to Thursday Island where we make our way to Red Hill Fort to catch one of Australia’s most famous sunsets before visiting the site where hundreds of Japanese Pearl Divers whom perished while diving in the Torres Straits are laid to rest. You will also visit the memorial of a W.W.11 zero pilot said to be the Emperors Daughter thought to have been shot down over the Torres Straits. Over night on Thursday Island.
Day 2. Plenty of time this morning for a walk around Thursday Island and or visit the Torres Straits Indigenous Centre. At approximately 10 am we depart Thursday Island for Horn Island to catch our flight to the Northern Most Tip of The Australian Continent. We land at Bamaga where we are met by 4.w.d. vehicles to take us to the Northern Most Tip of Australia. The 4.w.d. tour lasts approximately 4 hours. We are then transferred to our accommodation at either Sesia or Bamaga. Over night Bamaga.
Day 3. We depart Bamaga on Track for Weipa. Once in Weipa we conduct a tour of the Bauxite Mine and surrounds of Weipa. After lunch we fly low level to Karumba in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The scenery on the Western side of Cape York is breathtaking and cannot be seen unless you are in an aircraft as there are no roads or any other means of transport in this the most remote part of Australia. We often see huge Crocodiles on the beaches huge flocks of birds in the wet lands and Giant Turtles coming onto the remote beaches to lay their eggs. We land in Karumba in time another amazing sunset looking across the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Day 4. After breakfast in Karumba we again board the aircraft to fly across the Gulf Savannah over Croyden, Georgetown and along the Northern Development road to Undara. We conduct a two hour tour of the Undara lave tubes before lunch in the open air bush restaurant at Undara base. From Undara we fly across the Atherton tablelands over Mareeba and back into Cairns.
