If you are looking for some of the comforts of home and have little or no interest in camping or outdoor camp meals, then this may be the tour for you. This Cape York tour starts from Cairns and takes you all the way to Cape York and Thursday Island before you fly back from Horn Island to Cairns.

You'll travel in a luxury 4WD vehicle and eat and sleep in relative comfort compared to all the other Cape York tours.

The minimum number of people per trip required for the trip to run is 10. (Of course you can book with as few as one person - you will be matched up with other people) The maximum number is 25 however these are amongst the most modern and comfortable 4WD tour vehicles available  featuring on-board toilets, TV/ DVD, road cam and all forward facing, reclinable seats.

DAY 1 CAIRNS – COOKTOWN (LD)

After an early morning pick up from your accommodation your adventure begins. Travelling north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway, through the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. Then making our way along the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track, stopping off at the unique Lion’s Den Hotel, and the mysterious Black Mountain, arriving at the old gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks Landing and Grassy Hill Lookout. Overnight accommodation at Sovereign Resort in Cooktown – ensuite facilities.

DAY 2 COOKTOWN - LAKEFIELD NATIONAL PARK - MUSGRAVE (BLD)

Heading west into the outback, we travel over the legendary Battle Camp Range to the Old Laura Homestead and Lakefield National Park (toad conditions permitted). An amalgamation of 3 huge cattle stations, now a haven for the many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. The afternoon finds us arriving at our overnight stop at the old Musgrave telegraph station. (Accommodation with share facilities)

DAY 3 MUSGRAVE - COEN – ARCHER RIVER – WEIPA (BLD)

After a leisurely morning, we continue north stopping off at the historic frontier gold town of Coen and the picturesque Archer River, before making our way to the bauxite-mining town of Weipa. Enjoy the spectacular sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria. Our accommodation tonight is at the Heritage Resort – ensuite facilities.

DAY 4 WEIPA - WENLOCK RIVER – BRAMWELL STATION (BD)

This morning you may wish to take an informative tour of the Weipa mining operation (own expense) or just relax by the pool. After lunch, we head for our overnight stay at a true blue Aussie cattle station, Bramwell Station - share facilities. 

DAY 5 BRAMWELL – FRUIT BAT FALLS – CAPE YORK (BLD)

After an early start, we head north travelling along part of the Old Telegraph Track to arrive at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Relax, swim, and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. Then northwards across the Jardine River, to arrive at Cape York! We will be staying at Seisia. Seisia is ideally located for our next few days, being in walking distance from the Seisia Wharf, the departure point for the ferry to Thursday Island and a famous fishing spot. The  accommodation at Seisia Holiday Park tonight are cottages with ensuite facilities.

DAY 6 CAPE YORK - SOMERSET  (BLD)

An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia. We then visit Somerset (road conditions permitted), once the home of the legendary Jardine family and lunch on palm fringed Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach completes your day before returning to Seisia. The  accommodation at Seisia Holiday Park tonight are cottages with ensuite facilities.

DAY 7 CAPE YORK – THURSDAY ISLAND - CAIRNS (B)

An early morning departure as we cruise through island studded straits to explore our northern community, Thursday Island. Here you will be taken on a informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque Harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Then board your plane at Horn Island for a scenic flight back to Cairns. ETA to Cairns, approx 5.30pm.     

 The operator reserves the right to alter itinerary and, accommodation if necessitated.

The Largest Bauxite Mine in the World
A fascinating and informative tour of this enormous open cast mining site and the remote mining town of Weipa. The tour covers just about everything you might want to know about the Western Cape Region and its history plus a comprehensive insight into the whole process of mining and a chance to see the enormous mining equipment, trucks, locomotives and other plant used on the 2,590 square Km. Site. The tour takes approximately 2.5 hours and costs $40.00 pp
