Tour Itinerary

All fares include meals as per itinerary code: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch and (D) Dinner. ALL entrance fees as per itinerary.

DAY 1 (LD) - Cairns, Horn Island.
Your tour begins with a morning flight to Horn Island. (Make your own way to Cairns Domestic Terminal) On arrival at Horn Island you will be met by a representative from the Gateway Torres Strait Resort. Lunch included followed by a bus tour of the Island and Museum. Overnight accommodation. (Ensuite facilities)

DAY 2 (BD) - Thursday Island, Red Island Point, Punsand Bay.
Morning Transfer by ferry to Thursday Island. Ample time for sightseeing, souvenir shopping and a conducted bus tour of historic "T.I." is included. (Lunch is own cost today). Mid-afternoon ferry cruise to mainland. Accommodation at Punsand Bay Private Reserve. Permanent Tent (ensuite facilities) for 2 nights.

DAY 3 (BLD) - Cape York, Somerset.
An unforgettable day of achievement and interest. We stand at the very tip of our continent. Visit the ruins of Somerset (road conditions permitting), with pristine beaches and rocky headlands.

DAY 4 (BLD) - Jardine River, Fruitbat Falls, Moreton Station.
Anticipation and excitement as we commence our overland trek. Retracing the paths of our earliest overlanders, we cross the Jardine River to Fruitbat Falls, a Mecca for "off road" travelers. Enjoy a refreshing swim and lunch before we continue negotiating river crossings and bush tracks to arrive at Moreton Telegraph Station, on the banks of the Wenlock River. Overnight accommodation (2 nights) Cabin Tent - shared facilities (twin share fully screened tents with beds, linen).

DAY 5 (BLD) - Weipa, Wenlock River
Time for a guided nature walk along this lightly forested waterway before we cross the sandy Wenlock River. Travel south to Batavia Downs Station then detour west to the Gulf of Carpentaria through huge cattle runs and Aboriginal tribal lands to the bauxite-mining town of Weipa. A veritable "Oasis in the wilderness" and providing further contrast to your experience of this last frontier. Today you have a choice of a Weipa Mine Tour or Eco River Tour. (own cost) is available.

DAY 6 (BLD) - Coen, Musgrave, Cooktown
Today we travel south to Coen then onto Musgrave Telegraph Station, after lunch we enter the massive bird and animal sanctuary of Lakefield National Park. The waterfowl teem in lily fringed billabongs and an opportunity to safely view crocodiles in their natural habitat. Travel over the legendary Battle Camp Range to historical Cooktown. Overnight accommodation (2 nights) Motel - ensuite facilities (Laundry)

DAY 7 (BLD) - Cooktown.
This morning we visit the historical sites of Grassy Hill Lookout, Cooktown Cemetery, Cooks landing site the Wharf area and the Botanical Gardens after lunch at Natures Powerhouse we visit the James Cook Museum and then free time to explore Cooktown at leisure. Overnight accommodation Motel - ensuite facilities

DAY 8 (BL) - Bloomfield, Cape Tribulation, Cairns
Crossing the Bloomfield River marks the start of our drive over the controversial "Bloomfield Track". Jungle green heights descend to the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef, with tantalising glimpses of deserted beaches and fringing coral. Through the famous World Heritage Rainforest, across the Daintree River, then via the scenic road to Cairns. Your Tour adventure ends with a transfer to selected locations.

Booking Information

How to Book: A $400 deposit payment is required at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due at least seven weeks prior to departure. This trip is very popular and should be booked as far in advance as is possible. Bookings made within seven weeks of the travel date must be paid in full within 72 hours. The minimum number of people per trip required for the trip to run is 4. The maximum number of passengers per vehicle is 15. When there is more than 10 passengers, a host/ cook will accompany the driver.

Booking Policy

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received more than 45 days prior to departure are subject to a $100 per person fee.
Cancellations between 45 and 30 days will forfeit their deposit.
Cancellations between 30 and 21 days are subject to a 50% refund.
Cancellations 21 days or less are subject to no refund whatsoever.
