Each of the three climbs below are 3 1/2 hour guided Climbs that takes you through the heart of the Bridge, providing a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of this amazing structure.
Day Climb: You get a real overall sense of Sydney from the harbour and Opera House, across to the coastline and right out to the Blue Mountains. Climbing in the day has a vibrant, bustling, energetic feel. In every direction you look, an awesome view of the world's most beautiful harbour, awaits. Nothing else in Sydney gives you this breathtaking perspective.
Twilight Climb: At twilight you get the best of both worlds with the transition from day to night happening as you move through the Climb. It's amazing seeing all the colours across the sky and city changing as the day closes down and the night sets in. Coming down the bridge as the city lights start to come on you sense the night world coming alive. Start Times: Summer 5.30 to 6.30pm, Winter 3.00 to 4.00pm
Night Climb: Those that have Climbed at night describe the Climb as a totally different kind of experience - something like a "magical adventure as you hike up towards the heavens". The night has a really intimate feel. You're enclosed in a blanket of darkness with just the bridge lights illuminating the structure in huge shadows. Once you get to the top it's amazing, you can see the lights across the Sydney metropolitan area. Start times: Summer from 6.00pm, Winter from 4.00pm
Express Climb: This Climb is ideal for people who have limited time available to experience the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Express Climb will ideally suit visitors on a short stay in Sydney and corporate groups. BridgeClimb has streamlined operations to allow Climbers to enjoy BridgeClimb's signature experience over a shorter period of time. The Express Climb is customised to depart as the first Climb of each day and is 2 hours 15 minutes in duration and limited to 12 Climbers per Climb group.
Climbers feel the excitement of making their way along the catwalk to the pylon and then setting out across the arch to the summit, where they are rewarded with a spectacular 360-degree view of one of the world's greatest harbours and greatest cities.
Climbers are asked to check in for their Climb 15 minutes prior to their Climb time as Climbs are not able to be held for late arrivals. Groups of 12 Climbers depart every ten minutes throughout the day.
Each Climber is issued with a BridgeSuit, worn straight over the top of their own clothing, as well as communication equipment and a safety harness. As BridgeClimb operates in all weather, we also issue a Bridge Fleece, Weather Shell and Over Pants, plus head wear and gloves, depending on conditions on the day. Lanyards are available for Climbers who wish to wear prescription glasses or sunglasses. Climbers at twilight and at night are also issued with a headlamp, to provide extra light when climbing the arch. The lamp is similar to those used for caving.
As safety is our number-one priority at BridgeClimb, all Climbers are breath tested and must record a blood-alcohol reading of less than 0.05%, and are required to sign a Climber Declaration form to satisfy BridgeClimb's terms and conditions. All Climbers must be made aware of the BridgeClimb Health and Safety terms and conditions which are available to download from the BridgeClimb website at http://www.bridgeclimb.com/pointshealth_safety.htm.
As no loose items are permitted on the Bridge, Climbers are asked to remove and store these items in the lockers provided. All Climbers must then pass through a metal detector. BridgeClimb operates in all weather conditions, with the exception of electrical storms.
