If you are short on time but would like to see and stand at the tip of Cape York, the furthest north point on Australia's mainland, as well as see two of the Torres Strait islands, then this could be the tour for you!

With this three day tour package you fly from Cairns to Bamaga in Queensland's far north and the next day take a full day 4WD tour to the tip of Queensland. You will also see the places of interest in the very far north of Queensland. The next day, you will take a ferry to Thursday Island, a bus tour of Thursday Island and then a flight from Bamaga back to Cairns.

Your two night's accommodation are spent in a private twin or double room (shared bathroom facilities) and are located within a short walk of the beach.

Departure Dates: (May - October) Every Monday or Wednesday at 8am. Starts from Cairns Airport, with check in one hour prior to the departure time. Returns to Cairns airport on the third day at 5.30pm. Either return hotel transfers from Cairns hotels or airport car parking for three days are included in the price of the tour package.

There is also a two day Cape York tour option if you are short on time.

Tour Itinerary:

All fares include meals as per itinerary code: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch and (D) Dinner. All accommodation costs and entrance fees as per itinerary.

Day 1 of Cape York tour: ( D)

For Monday and Wednesday departures: This morning at 6.30am, you will either be picked up from your hotel in Cairns or you will make your own way to Cairns Airport Car Parking and they will drop you off to the front of the domestic airport. Check in for your flight to Bamaga at 7.00am. This morning you will take a flight from Cairns at 8am, arriving to Bamaga at 10.05am.

Optional Extra: A Half Day Fishing Charter

You will be met at the Bamaga airport by a staff member from Loyalty Beach campground and fishing lodge. The first day is yours to explore on your own. You may wish to go fishing for the day with a professional local guide (optional - Costs around $400 - $460 on a sole charter basis). If you would prefer an overland tour to be arranged the first day, it can be done on a sole charter basis only, with a four hour tour to Muttee Heads and other places of interest in and around Bamaga, costing around $480 for 1 - 6 people. Overnight in a twin share room (shared bathroom).

Day 2: (B, L, D) Today you will take a 4WD tour with your guide all the way to the tip of Australia. The tour runs from 8am - 4pm and includes pick up and drop off to your accommodation. Points of interest: Somerset Beach, The local indigenous communities of the Northern Peninsula Area, Lockerbie Homestead, The Tip of Australia, Croc Tent, DC3 plane crash site, and more. The tour is conducted by an experienced guide familiar with Cape York flora and fauna, and includes a lunch and light refreshments at a pristine location. Overnight in a twin share room (shared bathroom).

Day 3: (B, L) After an early breakfast, you will be dropped off at Seisa wharf for the 8am ferry to Thursday Island (duration 1 hour). On arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of the island (included) starting at 09:30am. After your tour, you will catch a ferry at 11.15am to Horn Island (duration 15 minutes). From there you will be met by a local guide who will show you the sights of the island and give you a nice lunch before taking you back to the mainland to the Bamaga (all included) for your flight departing at 3:30pm to fly over The Great Barrier Reef to Cairns ending your fascinating safari of adventure and discovery in Australia’s far north. The safari terminates at Cairns airport at 5.30pm.

Baggage Limits

The free checked baggage allowance is one piece not exceeding 16kg per passenger. The total linear measurement must not exceed 140cm (add together the depth, width and length).

The free cabin baggage allowance is one piece not exceeding 4kg per passenger (except infants under 2 years not occupying a seat).The total linear measurement must not exceed 105 cm (add together the depth, width and length). Due to the size of the aircraft cabin storage is limited. Check-in staff at all ports are required to sight all carry-on baggage.

Excess Baggage charges will apply for any baggage that is in excess of the free baggage allowance.
