Coming two months after Pearl Harbour, the sneak attack by 242 planes, was an attempt to prevent the Allies using them as bases to contest Japan’s invasions of Timor and Java. Visit historic bunkers in Charles Darwin National Park, with WWII era anti-aircraft guns.
