This is a great option for people who want to see the highlights of the rock and outback whilst gradually travelling toward Alice Springs for the next part of the journey. During this trip, you will stay in your choice of acccommodation each night from budget through to first class.

Departure Dates: Daily at 2.00pm (Apr - Oct) and at 3.00pm (Nov - Mar) from Ayers Rock Resort.

Tour Concludes: In Alice Springs and there is no scheduled activities on the last day. Check out time from the hotel is 10am.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas)

On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm). Travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and walk through Walpa Gorge. Witness a spectacular Uluru sunset from the sunset viewing area and enjoy the changing colours of Uluṟu with nibbles and complimentary wine.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Budget Rooms (Budget), Outback Pioneer Hotel (Standard), Desert Gardens Hotel (Superior or Superior + Wilderness) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (First Class or First Class + Wilderness), Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Ayers Rock – Kings Canyon

Rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre and Uluṟu alight. After sunrise join your Guide for a drive around the base of Uluṟu. Travel by coach to the Muṯitjulu Walk where you will be escorted to the beautiful Muṯitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock art and learn about the area as your Driver Guide indicates native flora and fauna and explains the history of Uluṟu. Visit the Uluṟu – Kata Tjuṯa Cultural Centre to see locally-made arts and crafts before traveling to Kings Canyon.

Day 3: Kings Canyon – Alice Springs

This morning make the climb to the rim of the Canyon, where you will be rewarded with marvellous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness). Continue the 3 hour walk around the canyon with your Guide as you hear and learn about the geology and history of this amazing formation. Take a rest and a moment to enjoy the tranquillity of the 'Garden of Eden'. Alternatively, take the more leisurely 1½ hour walk along the boulder-strewn canyon floor. Travel to Kings Creek Station for lunch (own expense). There is time for a scenic helicopter flight (own expense) to view Kings Canyon from the air. Travel through beautiful desert landscapes from Kings Creek Station to Alice Springs. Stop at Erldunda Roadhouse for the opportunity to purchase afternoon tea, before arriving in Alice Springs.

Hotel: Ibis Styles Alice Springs Oasis (Budget), Aurora Alice Springs (Standard), Lasseters Hotel (Superior or Superior + Wilderness) or Chifley Alice Springs Resort, River Gum Rooms (First Class or First Class + Wilderness), Alice Springs, 2 nights.

Day 4: Alice Springs

Visit Simpson’s Gap and Standley Chasm. See the sights on arrival in Alice Springs.
This morning you’re headed for the beautiful West MacDonnell Ranges. You’ll pass the John Flynn Memorial en route to your first stop at the incredible Simpsons Gap. Walk through Simpsons Gap to the waterhole and stop for morning tea. Next, you’ll arrive at Angkerle (Standley Chasm) where you’ll enjoy a light lunch prepared by the local indigenous caterers. Returning to Alice Springs you’ll see the sights of the region hub of the Australian outback. Visit the interesting School of the Air and Overland Telegraph Station to learn more of the history of the Alice. Next, stop by the highly respected Royal Flying Doctor Service before visiting the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, home to the largest reptile display in Central Australia. Finish your day with a stop at Anzac Hill for breathtaking panoramic views of Alice Springs and the East and West MacDonnell Ranges.

What to bring
Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park Fee: AUD$25 per person.
Sturdy walking shoes, hat and sunscreen, towel and toiletries, swimming gear, warm clothing, water bottle, torch, insect repellant, fly net to cover your head if you are bothered by flies (outback tours particularly), camera, money for optional snacks you might want to buy and/or meals not included on the specific tour you might be doing.

How much luggage can I bring?

One medium size suitcase per person, the sum of its length/width and depth not to exceed 140cm (56") plus an overnight bag (airline bag size) which may be carried on-board the coach. Maximum weight of all luggage not to exceed 20Kg (44lbs). We are required by strict Government vehicle weight regulations to enforce and adhere to this limit.

Cancellation Policy
Greater than 42 Days prior = A $200 per person cancellation fee.
42 -7 days prior = 20% + $200,
6 - 1 days prior = 50% + $200,
Day of Departure = 100% cancellation fees.

You have to reconfirm your tour at least 48 hours prior to the departure date.
