On this 10 Day Tour you will fly from Cairns fly to Horn Island on day 1, then transfer via Thursday Island on the inter Island ferry service back to the mainland and travel south via 4WD vehicle. Spending two nights at the magnificent Twin falls, all your camping gear, including strecher beds is included on this magnificent 10 day camping tour.

How to Book: A $400 per person deposit payment is required at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due at least two months prior to departure. This trip is very popular and should be booked as far in advance as is possible. Bookings made within two months of the travel date must be paid in full within 72 hours.

Min/ Max Numbers for this tour: The minimum number of people per trip required for the trip to run is 4. The maximum number of passengers per vehicle is 15. When there is more than 10 passengers, a host/ cook will accompany the driver. (Of course you can book with as few as one person - you will be matched up with other people)

Tour Itinerary:

All fares include meals as per itinerary code: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch and (D) Dinner. All camping and/or  accommodation costs and entrance fees as per itinerary.

DAY 1 (LD) - Cairns, Horn Island.
Your tour starts with an early morning flight to Horn Island. (Make your own way to Cairns Domestic Terminal) On arrival on Horn Island you will be met by a representative from the Gateway Torres Strait Resort. Lunch included followed by a bus tour of the Island and Museum. (Lunch and tour included) Overnight accommodation - (Ensuite facilities)

DAY 2 (BD) - Thursday Island, Loyalty Beach.
Morning ferry transfer to Thursday Island for a conducted bus tour of this historic Island. (Included). Lunch is at own cost today. Afternoon ferry transfer via Prince of Wales and Possession Islands to Seisia Wharf then transfer to Loyalty Beach Campground, our northern base camp for 2 nights.

DAY 3 (BLD) - Cape York, Somerset.
An unforgettable day of achievement and interest. We stand at the very tip of our continent. Visit the ruins of Somerset, (Roads permitting) with pristine beaches and rocky headlands.

DAY 4 (BLD) - Twin Falls.
We cross the mighty Jardine River, through the wilderness of forests and heath to Twin Falls on the Elliot River and a cooling dip in the rapids and waterfalls before setting up camp in this unique spot. Basic camp facilities.

DAY 5 (BLD) - Telegraph Road, Wenlock River.
An exciting day negotiating river crossings and bush roads while absorbing the unfamiliar landscape of eucalyptus scrub, heathlands, plains and exotic zamia forests. Camp on the Wenlock River at Moreton Telegraph Station. Campground facilities.

DAY 6 (BD) - Weipa, Archer.
Travel south to Batavia Downs Station then west to the Gulf of Carpentaria through huge cattle runs and Aboriginal tribal lands to the bauxite mining town of Weipa. Lunch at own cost today. Today you have a choice of a Weipa Mine Tour, or an Eco Boat tour (own cost). Overnight Weipa. (Laundry)

DAY 7 (BLD) - Archer River, Coen, Port Stewart
Across rolling Picaninny Plains, before a pause at the wide sandy Archer River. We visit historic Coen before heading to Port Stewart, a former sea port for the Ebagoolah, Coen and Batavia Goldfields. We virtually travel the entire length of the Stewart River – a recently declared Wild River due to its intact and healthy river system. We explore Port Stewart, a natural and culturally significant place, also the traditional homelands of the Lama Lama Aboriginal People. Overnight Yintjingga campground with facilities.

DAY 8 (BLD) - Musgrave, Lakefield National Park.
Learn about the Lama Lama Rangers work to assess and document the natural and cultural values and threats, and how they maintain these values. We venture West then South to arrive at Musgrave, the last remaining Telegraph Station in Cape York. East towards the Coral Sea to arrive at the massive wildlife haven, Lakefield National Park.

DAY 9 (BD) - Cooktown.
Past pioneer homesteads, with a pause for photos at Old Laura Homestead, along tracks first blazed by gold crazed fortune hunters, over the stark Battlecamp Range to reach Cooktown. A day of interest and enjoyment as we visit Cook's landing place, James Cook museum (own cost, as is lunch today), or shop for souvenirs in original colonial era shops. Overnight Cooktown. (Laundry)

DAY 10 (BL) - Daintree Rainforest, Cairns.
Over the jungle shrouded heights of the Bloomfield Track to enter the majestic expanse of the World Heritage Rainforest. Jungle heights descend to the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef with views of deserted beaches and fringing coral. Across the Daintree River by cable ferry and via the scenic coastal road back to Cairns. Your Oz Tours adventure ends with a transfer to selected locations.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received more than 60 days prior to departure are subject to a $400 per person fee.
Cancellations between 60 and 30 days are subject to a 75% refund.
Cancellations between 30 and 21 days are subject to a 50% refund.
Cancellations 21 days or less are subject to no refund whatsoever.
