Take to the sky on a spectacular dawn balloon flight in the Cairns Highlands up to 6500ft above sea level (when weather permits). As the sun rises these Cairns Hot Air Balloons gently lift off and quietly glide over the panorama of the Cairns Highlands (also known as the Atherton Tablelands).

30 Minute Hot Air Balloon Flights

Half the passengers board the balloon for Flight A, while the remaining passengers board the coach and chase the balloon to its landing point. At the landing point passengers for flight B board the balloon, while the remaining passengers board the coach to chase the balloon to its final landing site.

60 Minute Hot Air Balloon Flights

If sufficient passengers, a single continuous flight is conducted otherwise passengers remain aboard the balloon for both 30 minute flights.

Booking Information

Spectators/ Non Fliers are welcome however a $65 fee applies for the return transfers and breakfast.
Departure time:
Departs Cairns daily at 5.00am
Departs Port Douglas at 5.00am

Return time:
Return at approx 10.00am

Pickup or Departure Point Details:
Pick up and return to your accommodation in Cairns, Cairns Northern Beaches and Port Douglas
Same day photos and merchandise are for sale at an extra cost.

Extra levies:
Civil aviation & other insurance charges of $30 per person per trip are payable on the day of travel
Return Port Douglas accommodation transfers $20 per adult and free for a child accompanied by adult

Booking Policy

Child age is 4 - 14 Years. Children 0 - 3 years can not fly and must have an adult to accompany them on the ground for the entire time.
Please also advise the following:
The name of your Holiday Accommodation and/ or a mobile telephone contact in case the tour director can’t find you. We also book accommodation at the best locally available rates so if we can help you with that, please let us know.
