Itinerary

Day 1: Alice Springs – Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) Sunset – Barbecue Dinner

Travel south from Alice Springs. Visit a camel farm, where you may choose to purchase a camel ride. Later stop to view Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. Watch the sun set while enjoying complimentary wine. After sunset, join us under the stars at our exclusive venue. Enjoy sparkling wine then dine on a menu of steak, lamb sausages, chicken skewers and garlic prawns, salads and a tasty dessert. All accompanied by a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks. There’s time for stargazing too (weather permitting).

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Lodge (Budget), Outback Pioneer Hotel (Standard), Desert Gardens Hotel (Superior or Superior + Wilderness) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (First Class or First Class + Wilderness), Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights.

Day 2: Uluṟu Sunrise & Sacred Sites – Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas)

Watch the gorgeous sunrise at Uluṟu, then drive around the base of Uluṟu. Travel to the Mutiṯjulu Waterhole to view Aboriginal rock art. Visit the Uluṟu – Kata Tjuṯa Cultural Centre. Travel to Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas) where your guide will escort you on a 2-3 hour walk to the Valley of the Winds (shorter walk available). Take in a sunset at Kata Tjuṯa, while enjoying complimentary wine.

Upgrade to The Rising Sun & Sacred Walk for $66. Experience the sacred beauty and culture of Uluṟu led by a member of the local Aṉangu people. View the majestic sunrise at Uluru then enjoy breakfast. Immerse yourself in Aṉangu culture as you gather around a campfire and learn about ancient bush skills. Then join your guide for an interpretive walk at the base of Uluṟu.

Day 3: Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) – Kings Canyon

After a morning at leisure, drive through sand hill country to Kings Canyon.

Hotel: Kings Canyon Lodge (Budget), Kings Canyon Resort, Standard Rooms (Standard or Superior), Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge* (Superior + Wilderness or First Class + Wilderness) or Kings Canyon Resort, Deluxe Spa Rooms (First Class), Kings Canyon.

Day 4: Kings Canyon – Farewell from Alice Springs

Climb to the rim of the canyon or take the easier 1.5 hour walk along the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed. Return to Kings Canyon Resort for lunch (own expense). Travel back to Alice Springs, where your short break concludes.

As this Short Break concludes after 7.00pm, accommodation will need to be pre-booked for the night
