This Reef Cruise is one of the fastest day trips to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, cruising at 30 knots. Passengers taking a day trip on this boat will enjoy great Scuba diving and great snorkeling at two outer reef locations. This air-conditioned boat has ample space for a relaxing day and apart from the snorkelling or Scuba diving, you can enjoy a delicious BBQ style lunch at the reef.

Novice scuba divers can join the "Discover Scuba Diving" program which is an excellent way to see the Great Barrier Reef - with pre-dive tuition, close underwater supervision, dive recognition card and certificate included. If diving is not your thing, why not try the semi submersible for an extra $10 per person?

Departure Dates: This Cairns Reef Cruise departs every day except for Christmas Day from the Cairns Marina at 8.20am. Returns at 5.15pm. It is a good idea to make a booking in advance. 

How to book: You can book online by clicking on the rates table's "Book Now" button, or, call us to book on 1800 681 685  from within Australia or  from outside Australia. A 25% deposit payment is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is payable on the day of the tour when you get on board. Your ticket will be emailed back to you within a short time (during business hours) of receiving your booking request and deposit payment.  Please note: The Government Environmental Management Charge along with other levies is included in the below rates.

Cairns hotel bus transfers are an extra $14 per person. Beaches hotel bus transfers are $22 per person.

More Information:  The Cairns Reef Cruise departs daily from the Cairns marina at 8.30am and takes 90 minutes to arrive at the first or two reef locations - for a combined 5 hours at the reef. Or, if this seems a bit long, for a little extra cost, why not sleep in and take a 1pm helicopter flight from the Cairns helicopter port, to join the boat in just 20 minutes - and still have 2 hours free time at the reef! Alternatively, you may want to fly back from the reef to the mainland and get back by 4pm. It's a great view from above in the helicopter and a nice way to treat yourself to something special!

Pickup or Departure Point Details:
Reef Fleet Terminal 1 Spence St Cairns. Extra costs for pick up and return to your accommodation in Cairns will be $12 per person or $22 per person for the Northern Beaches

Regarding Scuba Diving:
Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy, pregnancy, and heart or lung conditions. Some other medical conditions may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition please contact us.

Passenger weights are required for helicopter flights.
The name of your Holiday Accommodation and/ or a mobile telephone contact in case the tour director can’t find you. We also book accommodation at the best locally available rates so if we can help you with that, please let us know.
